The New Leadership Challenge

Embracing Change: The New Leadership Challenge

Event 1 in the 2023 Perth Professionals calendar will be hosted virtually by Partner&Prosper, with guest speaker Dr Simon Eassom, Founder and CEO of Futures in Focus and Chief Futurist at the Australian Council of Professions.

The New Leadership Challenge

Technology innovation, the coronavirus pandemic, and growing anxiety around geopolitical and climate issues have changed everything for current CEOs and leaders: the next few years will be very much business as un-usual. Dr Simon Eassom will outline how four key main disruptive trends are creating new leadership challenges for all sectors.

The exponential rate of change; the growth of digital economies; the new world of hybrid work; and the competition for talent require a radical shift in leadership from dominant styles of being the “boss” to more democratic styles of service, putting moral authority led by conscience, purpose, and commitment ahead of ego and "bottom line” value.

In this future-looking session, Dr Eassom will define the key leadership skills required to deal with the new challenges and future uncertainties and ask whether or not we need to re-think how leaders are created and developed.

Dr Simon Eassom is a business leader, public speaker, thought leader and senior executive with extensive experience managing P&L for multi-million dollar lines of business.

He has been a visionary leader in the adoption of AI, predictive analytics, blockchain, and the Internet-of-Things and has been instrumental in the creation of digital solutions at the leading edge of the transformation of education, learning, health, and the future of work. His experience as a consultant has crossed industry boundaries, leading on the development of new business opportunities, and converting transformative vision into strategy and execution.

As a polymath and visionary strategist, Simon is able to analyse and translate complex issues into clear points-of-view and realisable solutions. He is also a highly commended public speaker with a current range of topics that include: the ethics of AI; the need for new models of leadership; re-building trust in an untrusting world; the hype and reality of AI; and the impact of technology on the future of work and learning.
