Technical Change Management - Does it need to be so hard?

We will discuss what Technical Change Management is, why it's important and where it fits in the ITIL v4 framework. We will cover barriers to change and some of the things we can do to simplify the process as well as some essential skills for those needing to lead change. The session is geared to professionals who are either new to technical change management or perhaps those who are still in the old ITIL v3 paradigm and want to move forward.

Attendees should expect a challenge to traditional change management models and ideas about how they might streamline processes. If you engage with technical change at any scale, this session will challenge some inflexible norms and provide opportunities for process improvement even for the smallest organisation. 

Mike, having led change in waterfall, agile and DevOps oriented environments, details the key is flexibility and adaptability.

Mike Schuman has been in the technology field for over thirty years. Starting with satellite communications, he has worked in all manner of networking and communications technologies, before making the jump into enterprise architecture, strategy, project/program management, applications development, cybersecurity and governance/compliance. He has worked at enterprise and startup scale, with constant pragmatism and adaptability. He is a certified ISO27001 Lead Auditor/Implementor, TOGAF9 Enterprise Architect, Prince 2 Practitioner and is ITIL v3 qualified. Mike currently runs a niche consulting firm called SigmaPhi which focuses on Secure Digital Transformation.
